Kyle Torf is an experienced program manager who has directed and consulted on a variety of enterprise-scale IT projects and initiatives. Over the last five years, he has worked exclusively within the healthcare industry, where he’s managed projects from inception and strategy phases through the procurement, design, build, and implementation process. Throughout his career, Kyle has established strong client relationships, earning him a reputation as an adept vendor liaison. This domain expertise has allowed him to expand his skillset as he successfully manages a diverse array of projects.
As a member of T2 Tech Group, Kyle works with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), where he oversees the creation of the data analytics infrastructure strategy and program. His responsibility includes the implementation of an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Population Health Management platform. Kyle also manages access-management programs and the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) overhaul, including replacement with a multifactor authentication system, and replacement of ADFS with a new SAML-based single sign-on (SSO) interface. Clients consistently recognize his value, and CHLA routinely seeks Kyle’s advice and assessment regarding organizational IT-related initiatives.
Kyle has built his core expertise around SSO, VDI, interactive patient care, identity and access management, data analytics, and population health. In just six months, he managed the successful completion of a rollout of VDI and SSO at Seton Medical Center, a Verity Health System hospital, meeting a crucial computerized physician order entry (CPOE) deadline. He also facilitated the VDI implementation at Regional Health by shifting the focus to end-user workflow and introducing tap-and-release printing.
Through T2 Tech, Kyle was initially contracted as an IT project manager at Kootenai Health in Idaho. In this role, he managed the procurement, build and deployment of a VDI and SSO system for both inpatient and outpatient settings. This effort included VDI and SSO deployment to a 300-bed hospital and 25 clinics. This engagement included managing the RFP process, workflow design and implementation of an interactive patient-care system, encompassing an existing hospital and a new building. In addition, he managed the assessment and selection—as well as the design, build and deployment—of a clinical integration network population health platform for the Kootenai Care Network. This project required integration with more than 20 outpatient-practice EMR systems.
Kyle graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and earned an Intensive Business Certificate from the University of Colorado Boulder, Leeds School of Business. He also completed a CIEE Intensive Language Program in Beijing, China and is proficient in reading and speaking Mandarin Chinese on a conversational level.
Kyle has earned a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification. He has presented and published a video with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) on improving patient engagement through interactive patient care.
