Managing Partner

Robert Konishi is a successful information systems executive with a career spanning more than 20 years in the IT industry. He is therefore both highly qualified and experience-tested in executive management, enterprise architecture, operations and project management.

Robert has developed an exemplary reputation for formulating and executing IT strategies for nationally renowned healthcare organizations and other industry-leading partners. He has held leadership roles in major initiatives for some of the most prestigious healthcare institutions. He is a results-driven technology executive who approaches both technical and management challenges with creative solutions to deliver remarkable results. His history of success shows a strong track record of collaborating with IT and business executives to assess and resolve complex technology challenges in dynamic enterprise environments.

Robert founded T2 Tech Group™ in 2006. Since founding the company, he has led multimillion-dollar IT infrastructure projects on behalf of organizations such as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Saint John’s Health Center, University of Kentucky Healthcare, Queenscare Family Clinics, Comanche County Memorial Hospital and Mesa Water District.

At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Robert presided over the design, planning and implementation of IS infrastructure for a new hospital project — the 460,000-square-foot, 280-bed, Marion and John E. Anderson Pavilion. He was also in charge of planning and remediating the mission-critical IS infrastructure to support Saint John’s Health Center’s initiative to design a new 250,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art health-center campus. As a hands-on managing partner of T2 Tech, Robert continues to lead similarly sized projects for healthcare organizations across the country.

At Verity Health System (VHS), Robert managed the merger of the IT organizational and operational models that resulted from the VHS acquisition in 2016 of the Daughters of Charity Health System. VHS is now a six-hospital system, with affiliated medical group network, based in Los Angeles and San Francisco. This transition included assessment and transformation of the VHS data center strategy, IT infrastructure architecture, operational support model, EHR strategy, and project management methodology. As part of this engagement, Robert assumed responsibilities of chief information officer for VHS in 2017.

Prior to founding T2 Tech Group, Robert worked for the UCLA Health System for nearly two decades. After many years of service as the director of information services there, he was promoted to chief technology officer. In this demanding leadership role, he directed a 175-person IS department. This department supported enterprise IS operations. During his tenure, he administered new IS systems and services for a complex, $1 billion healthcare system that encompassed the UCLA School of Medicine, the 1,000-physician UCLA Medical Group and the three-hospital UCLA Health System.

Robert is a member of the Information Technology Steering Committee for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Los Angeles. He previously served on the Executive Advisory Committee at AwarePoint and was recruited as an IS Steering Committee member for the Venice Family Clinic. His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego.
